Polycarbonate (PC)
Polycarbonate is a thermoplastic engineering plastic developed in the early 1960s. Through copolymerization, blending and reinforcement, many modified varieties have been developed to improve processing and use performance.
1. Performance characteristics
Polycarbonate has outstanding impact strength and creep resistance, high heat resistance and cold resistance, and can be used in the range of +130~-100℃; high tensile and bending strength, and high High elongation and high elastic modulus; in a wide temperature range, it has good electrical properties, low water absorption, good dimensional stability, good abrasion resistance, high light transmittance and a fixed Anti-chemical corrosion performance; good formability, can be made into rods, tubes, films, etc. by injection, extrusion and other molding processes to meet various needs. The disadvantages are low fatigue strength, poor stress cracking resistance, sensitivity to notches, and stress cracking easily.
2. Purpose
Polycarbonate is mainly used as industrial products, instead of non-ferrous metals and other alloys, as impact-resistant and high-strength parts, protective covers, camera housings, gear racks, screws, screws, coil frames, plugs, sockets in the machinery industry , Switches, knobs. Glass fiber reinforced polycarbonate has metal-like properties and can replace copper, zinc, aluminum and other die-casting parts; it can be used as electrical insulation parts and power tools in the electronics and electrical industries. Shells, handles, computer parts, precision instrument parts, plug-in components, high-frequency heads, printed circuit sockets, etc. After blending polycarbonate and polyolefin, it is suitable for making safety helmets, weft tubes, tableware, electrical parts, colored plates, pipes, etc.; after blending with ABS, it is suitable for making parts with high rigidity and high impact toughness, such as safety helmets. , Pump impellers, auto parts, electrical instrument parts, frames, shells, etc.

For pc materials, the mold can adopt two methods: hot runner and cold runner,
Hot runner-advantages: The product is very beautiful and the quality is very high. Disadvantages: high price.
Cold runner-advantages: the price is low. Disadvantages: Some products cannot be made.
